BFFI 2009…Cracking!
Kid in a toy shop? Something like that, but thankfully, I didn’t end up selling my family or soul in order to fund a horrendous amount of tying materials (that said, I’m still wrestling with a few possible future purchases after getting my grubby little mitts on some impressive materials at the show). For now, I’m happy with a few small purchases of the outstanding materials held by the Lakeland and Cookshill stands.
Also picked up was the new FishOn Productions DVD, The Complete Mayfly, presented by John Tyzack and Dean Andrews. I’ve already watched it, and it’s bloody fantastic! A proper review will follow soon, but it’s definitely worth buying!
Nice to see some old faces at the show, as well as meeting a few new ones. A really (really!) cracking day, and if you’ve not been before, make sure you’re at Stoke-on-Trent next year. I’m planning on being there already.
Bill, a huge thank you, I owe you big time for the fantastic hospitality and a great day!

< ![CDATA[Gareth,
Where were you mate?! Would have loved to have had a chat, but I didn't realise you were going.
How much did you spend?!!

< ![CDATA[No way! I think you may have been the only person I didn't bump into! Maybe next time :)
Didn't spend too much in the end mate, just a few things at the Cookshill stand and a few packs of hooks at Lakeland although I'm looking into getting a Whiting Midge saddle after seeing them first hand today, they look awesome for the small parachutes I tie :) Man, it would've been so easy to spend a fortune there!
How about you Matt? Do I detect melting plastic? haha

< ![CDATA[Yes mate, I made a beeline for Cookshill and shed about 80 quid inside 5 minutes.....then headed over to Lakeland. You can imagine the carnage that ensued!

< ![CDATA[Hey Gareth,
Some good photos here! Looks like the fair was a huge success! But with all this talk of plastic meltdown, maybe it's a good thing I missed it? But I'll be with you next year!]]>

Strangely enough Most’, regarding the photos, those were the only four I took all day. It was around 3:30pm when I realised (in a rather panicked affair!) that I’d not taken any, but like I’ve said (and in my defence) I was like a kid in a toy shop! I took these photos last thing, but SHOULD have come away with far, far more. Ah well, lesson learnt for next year (looking forward to it already!)

< ![CDATA[Thanks for dropping by John, and yup, strangely mate, I've indeed been watching the Early Season DVD again. Gotta say, it's the best on the market :)
I've nearly finished a quick review of the Mayfly DVD mate, so hope to have that up soon, and of course, I'll make sure to pop it on FFF too. I hope it helps!
Thanks again John,
