Madness…
…slowly but surely, it’s wrapping its anxious, irritated, and paranoid hands tighter and tighter around me.
Rest assured, I’m not actually going mad per se, more succumbing to frustration that for the last week or so (due to work commitments and the great Welsh weather) my fishing has suffered.
The weather of late has been very nonchalant; throwing at us whatever it can be bothered to. Consistently warm with rain ranging from heavy down pours to drizzle. Mix this with a (at the moment) very busy working life and you get non-existent fishing time.
Saturday, was my last fishing outing, and I will have had to wait a week until I can get a chance to go out again this coming Saturday. Eyes are eagerly watching multiple forecasts; so far they are predicting a mostly sunny day, with slight cloud. I’m happy with that.
If the weather is similar to last Saturday, it will be too warm by noon to reap any rewards at a consistent level, so a very early morning session looks to be on the cards before the heat kicks in.
For my sanity, I plead; send me a good hatch, rising fish, and a few wild brownies…

Now you have had a small taste of my world Gareth. Ha Ha.
If you ever have kids you’ll realise that for some of us it’s ten times worse. So far this season I’ve done well and managed two afternoons and a day at a stillwater. Oh for the single fishing days but there again if you double your excitement of fishing you’ll get halfway to what kids bring you. I wouldn’t swap it for the world even if it does turn me into a frustrated internet fisherman who reads about others fishing trips and hankers after tackle he can’t afford. Please therefore keep the reports coming.

Stuart, when you put it that way, I suppose I’m lucky to be getting out as much as I do!
And no worries, I’ll try to keep the reports coming…fingers crossed that the weather plays ball for my trip on Saturday…

Great pic, how did you do that Gareth, Photoshop or other smaller freeware?

Hey Nek, I use Fireworks for all of my image editing. Just selected the fish (takes 5ish minutes to work around it’s outline), then I reverse the selection so that everything but the fish is selected, then it’s just a case of converting the selection to black and white, and that’s it.
If you notice though, I missed out the trout’s left pectoral fin in between my index and middle fingers, doh!
All image levels were adjusted accordingly before that was done, although saying that, I try not to adjust levels too much…I like them to look as real as possible.
Glad you like!
