Since I was little I’ve been captivated by the rivers and streams here in South Wales. Their beauty and surroundings are something so special to me I wouldn’t change them for the world. That said, I’ve always daydreamed of fishing New Zealand; it’s glacial surroundings look so jaw droppingly beautiful and the trout so huge, it’d be impossible for any trout fisherman not to be impressed by the scope of the place.

Now and again a DVD is released that simply blows you away, The Source: New Zealand is just such a movie and is positively stunning. I’m unable to say much more other than please watch the below trailers. You owe it to yourselves.

Two days until the start of the new trout season and the already-painful levels of excitement, madman craziness and anxiousness have reached even greater heights, and no thanks to the guys at Catch Magazine. The usual and amazing levels of jaw dropping and truly inspirational photography are present, and just check out the shots in the ‘One Man’s Umpqua’ article!

For those of you who are missing summer evenings with generous hatches, rising fish, an inkling of dry fly action, and where it’s warm enough for you to actually go fishing in a t-shirt instead of multiple layers of damn thermals, here’s a video from Horse & Country TV. Issue #9 is once again outstanding, and the quality of the photography is, as always, jaw dropping. Issue #9′s winter photos are simply sublime but also has the added bonus of a nice small stream piece based in Tasmania, just up my street!
