Server Deployments, Greying Hair & Fraying Sanity
Man, that was a busy few months! First off, my biggest apologies for the lack of posts since the end of August; it seems to have worried some of you so much that I’ve even had a few emails asking if I’m still alive! Biggest thanks for those guys, it’s nice to know I’m missed!
“What fun have I been busy enjoying then?” I hear you ask? Well, server deployments, clustered firewall configurations, building iSCSI shared storage solutions, and re-developing the entire back-bone of my company’s IT infrastructure. It’s a busy time, with most evenings and weekends spent poring over network and server logs, building a new piece of infrastructure, or progressing with further IT training…I’m spotting quite a few new grey hairs! Still, I can’t complain in this day and age of job ‘insecurity’, so it’s been a couple of months of heads down, and I’m afraid it’s meant a lack of blogging time.
That said, I’m back! And I’ve even managed some time to fish lately! There’ll be a ‘Catch Up’ post coming very soon, and I’ve a few exciting updates including recent/new grayling fishing outings, fly tying videos, as well as a new small-streams article which will shortly be appearing in one of the top online fly fishing magazines. Stay tuned for that one!
Lastly, and again, thanks for all the emails during my absence guys (there’s actually been quite a few!), I really appreciate it.
For now, I’ll leave you with a link to the latest edition of the awesome Catch Magazine. Click the below image to view.

Great to have you back at last. I nearly sent you an email too, to see if you were still alive but you’d been gone so long, I was seriously worried it wasn’t a joke anymore. Really looking forward to the resuming of your blog forthwith.
Stuart, a big thanks mate. I’ve not forgotten about those photos either; they’ll be across to you without fail this evening.
Cheers Stuart!
